A young couple welcomed their baby girl into their home, and their golden retriever, Lora, quickly became a devoted guardian. However, Lora’s behavior soon grew more peculiar. Every night, she would sit beside the crib without moving a muscle. She didn’t lie down, sleep, or even take breaks to drink water. She simply stared at the baby, occasionally letting out a soft whine.
At first, the new parents assumed Lora was just being protective, a loyal companion to their child. But as the days passed, the dog’s behavior became more unsettling.
Each night, while the parents slept soundly, Lora remained by the crib, and by morning, she acted as though nothing unusual had occurred—eating, playing, and resting like always.
The mother began to feel uneasy. “Why does she act like this? I’m starting to worry about our daughter. Should we take her to the vet?”
In an effort to ease their concerns, the couple decided to install a night-vision camera focused on the crib. What they discovered left them horrified. At around 3:12 AM, the camera captured Lora suddenly standing up, growling and barking at the window. As they watched in disbelief, the window slightly opened, and a hand appeared, trying to push through the screen.
Lora sprang into action, grabbing the curtain with her teeth and leaping onto the windowsill, barking ferociously. The hand quickly withdrew, and moments later, there was complete silence.
Panicked, the mother immediately called the police.
It was later revealed that a local criminal had been targeting homes for weeks, entering through ground-floor windows. He specifically sought families with babies, knowing the parents would likely be caught off guard.

The intruder was apprehended two days later, thanks to evidence found at the scene—scraps of glove fabric and bloodstains. Lora had bitten him during her heroic act.
From that night on, the couple never again locked Lora away in the kitchen. She slept peacefully in the nursery, curled up beside the crib, and never whimpered again. She had done her job—protecting her family in the way only a dog could.
