I gave a homeless man a makeover and introduced him as my fiancé — the consequences were nothing I could have predicted.

Tired of my parents constantly asking if I’d found “the one” and when I was getting married, I came up with a bold plan — I’d bring home a fake fiancé. One afternoon, I noticed a homeless man sitting on a park bench and approached him with a deal: I’d clean him up, feed him, and give him a place to stay if he pretended to be my future husband.

He agreed without hesitation, and as I helped him, I was genuinely shocked at how well he cleaned up. Beneath the rough exterior was a handsome man — and the more we talked, the more I realized he was actually a good guy.

Confident my little scheme would work, I brought him to my parents’ house. But as soon as we sat down to dinner, my mom stared at him and said his face looked oddly familiar. A few minutes later, she suddenly blurted out, “He’s NOT the right man for you. You can’t marry him!”
