Although some may hesitate to adopt a dog with disabilities, Petey’s foster mom, Cathy Overfield, emphasized his playful and loving nature.

“He likes to play with toys, loves to go on walks, and tries to play with other dogs. He’s just a very loving, snuggly boy,” she shared.

When Randi met Petey, she sensed his desire to love people. “When people first meet Petey, they can’t help but fall in love with him,” Randi said.

Before adopting Petey, Randi wanted to ensure he would get along with her other dog, Tucker. Luckily, their introduction was seamless.

“The second Tucker and Petey met, they tied themselves up in their leashes to play with each other. They were immediately best friends for life,” Randi recounted.

Despite his sensory limitations, Petey has brought immense joy and love to his new family. “He has brought so much love, learning, and excitement,” Randi said. “He was meant to be part of this family.”
